Le juge Rolf Wiehagen commente:
"Quite a non-standard problem: Four
solutions in 3.5 moves, each of some interest in its own, yielding a touch of HOTF by wP and wRa1
giving mate from the same squares, respectively, which are reached on different ways and by different
means, active sacrifices of wRa7, tempi by both white rooks, reciprocal capture wP/bB and
interchange of W1/W4. 1...Rxa6 (white sacrifice) 2.Bxa6 a3 3.Kb5 Ra2 (tempo) 4.c6 a4#
1...Rb7(tempo) 2.Rb3+ axb3 3.Ba4 (black sacrifice) Rxc7+ 4.Kb5 bxa4#, 1...Rb7 (white sacrifice) 2.Kxb7 a4 3.Ka7 axb5 4.Sb7 Rxa6#, 1...a4 2.Bxa4 Rxa4 (W/B sacrifices for clearance) 3.b5 Rxa5 4.Kb6 R5xa6#
(1...Rxa6 2.~? Ra7 3.Ba6 Rxc7+ 4.Kb5 a4+, but 5.bxa3 e.p.!).
